2021 Pastoral Anniversary Recap

2021 Pastoral Anniversary Recap
What an amazing and beautiful celebration of our pastor and first lady! This year we celebrated our pastoral anniversary on Sunday, September 19 and Sunday, September 26 at our noon service. The theme was Fitly Joined Together from Neh. 4:6.

During the first service (19th) Team 1 stepped out in yellow and black and Team 2 stepped out in hues of blue. The guest speaker was Elder Brooks of Stephen Temple COGIC (Pastor Colbert) and we had a wonderful time in the Lord. We celebrated the miracles of God through the testimony of Elder Brooks who suffered what some thought was a stroke as indicated by his symptoms. But before he got to the hospital he was healed of every symptom and has suffered no effects of the stroke. God completely healed him and it’s as if it never happened. We went into a high praise because of God’s miraculous healing of not only Elder Brooks, but our pastor who had been afflicted for the last 9 months, but was on his feet and walking without assistance.

During our final service (26th) Team 3 stepped out in red and Team 4 stepped out in green. The guest speaker was Elder Kelso of Faith Clinic COGIC (Bishop Zachary N. Hicks). God blessed tremendously in this service as well. Elder Kelso shared his testimony of being delivered from drug addiction and being reconciled with his family after being homeless for 4 years. He shared that he slept on manholes to have heat in the winter at night. He blessed 10 members of our church with a free copy of his book entitled From Darkness to Light which is written testimony of his life and how God delivered him and saved him. Before Pastor and Lady Evans gave final words of thanks and appreciation they were presented with gifts and a board from the Children’s Ministry.

A big thank you to all who participated, viewed the service, gave a word of encouragement, and blessed them with their finances. The services can be viewed from The Open Door COGIC-Detroit’s facebook page and pictures from the 2021 Pastoral Anniversary are also available from our Facebook page and this blog

We appreciate our leaders and pray that God continues to bless and keep them for many, many, more years to come.
