Pastor Alan R. Evans Sr. is the pastor and founder of The Open Door Church of God in Christ-Detroit. He was called to the pastorate in 1991 along with his faithful and loving wife by his side.  The Open Door church has been in existence for 26 years and has become a beacon of light and holiness in what has been deemed the worst zip code on the east side of the city of Detroit. In 2017, The Open Door church began its 25th year by burning the mortgage and in May of 2018 moved into a new House of Worship. Pastor Evans endeavors to keep the doors of the church open to all who are oppressed of the devil to receive deliverance and instruction in righteousness.
